NuStep Challenge to Raise Funds for “The Longest Day”

June 30, 2021

According to The Alzheimer’s Association, 50 million people around the world are currently living with dementia, and that number is predicted to reach 75 million by the year 2030. The organization encourages people all over the globe to use their creativity and passion to help by raising funds and awareness for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association to fight the disease

Every year on the summer solstice (the longest day of the year), people around the world gather to recognize the millions of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers – those who live the longest day every day.

Wanting to join the fight against Alzheimer’s, associates and residents of La Posada came together for an all-day NuStep challenge on Friday, June 18.

La Posada understands firsthand the toll the disease can have on those affected and wanted to do our part to raise awareness. This year, participants at the community kept our two NuStep recumbent step machines going consecutively from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Residents and associates of La Posada, as well as friends and family, had the ability to pledge any amount of money during this time to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s.

This was La Posada’s sixth year supporting initiatives for The Longest Day, and we were thrilled to have so many people join us to raise money and support for our local Southeast Florida Alzheimer’s Association in hopes of finding a cure.

We appreciate everything our participants and contributors did to help us raise awareness for this important cause!
