Firefighters of Station 65 and residents of La Posada senior living community banded together to help children who have experienced a traumatic or devastating event with teddy bears to accompany them on trips across Palm Beach Gardens. The first responders also plan to hand them out scenes fires, car accidents or other disturbing events where children are present.

Ann Mayberry was among 30 La Posada residents who helped coordinate the “Teddy Care” drive. For close to a month, donation boxes were placed around the senior living community to collect small bears for little children and big bears for teenagers. 85 bears were delivered to Station 65 on Teddy Bear Picnic Day along with a few gifts for the firefighters.

The community plans on hosting the “Teddy Care” drive every year with deliveries set to go out on Teddy Bear Picnic Day.
