The staff of a Palm Beach Gardens senior living community is helping one of the residents celebrate a very special birthday.

On Monday, Milton Stier will celebrate his 103rd birthday.

However, in more than a century of being alive, this will be the first time Stier will celebrate amid social distance orders.

But the staff at La Posada, a Kisco Senior Living Community, is making it very memorable.

Stier will celebrate with his family via Zoom, a video communication application.

Chef Clay Bordan is also preparing Stier his favorite meal – lamb chops and homemade strawberry shortcake.

“Birthdays and anniversaries don’t stop just because we’re practicing social distancing. Our community always strives to celebrate life’s milestone moments with residents and that hasn’t changed during this unprecedented pandemic,” said Brad Cadiere, Executive Director of La Posada. “It’s an honor for our team to be a part of making these celebrations great.”

Stier has lived at the facility since 2007. His caretaker says he is very independent and art keeps him going.
