The holiday season is one of togetherness and thankfulness, allowing for friends and family to come as community to reflect on the blessings of the previous year. During this time, many are focused on how they can give back and show kindness to the greater community around them. This mindset of giving is one that La Posada works to enact throughout the year and not only at the holidays
One of the most important elements of what makes La Posada special is the senior living community’s commitment to serving others. Throughout the year, residents and associates at the community have participated in a variety of “random acts of kindness” to serve one another within the community, as well as La Posada’s surrounding neighbors. The random acts have enabled the senior living community the ability to engage with nearby neighbors, as well as show gratitude to those who come into the community for short stretches. At La Posada, thankfulness is a mindset that has long been ingrained at the community, but one that has been reemphasized over the past couple of years to never take for granted.
La Posada’s random acts of kindness have taken place through a variety of avenues, encouraging everyone at the community to find an opportunity to participate. So far, this year, La Posada has done everything from back to school supply drives, dessert special deliveries to first responders, special birthday deliveries for all residents and associates, to making snack bag distributions for delivery and other workers visiting the community. The senior living community has also prepared donation boxes for the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and raised funds for the local Alzheimer’s Foundations to raise awareness of the disease.
Such actions show the heart of the community, but only scratch the surface of how the residents and associates at La Posada share their blessings with the greater Palm Beach Gardens community. Many of the community’s residents and associates are members of various boards, as well as volunteers within their personal churches, synagogues and other organizations.
As the community looks toward the beginning of a new year, plans are already underway to work together to continue supporting its neighbors and one another. This commitment to community is something that defines La Posada’s enriched lifestyle and one-of-a-kind programming.
